OK, I have a question for those of you that sell eating eggs...
I rarely sell eating eggs, because 1. I have mostly bantams and 2. I mostly sell them as hatching eggs
SO, I will often give a coworker a dozen bantam eggs for eating, and have been doing that for a couple of months with one of the vets I work with. After the first dozen, he insisted on paying me for them. His idea, not mine. Then yesterday at work, he complained that the yolks were too big and rich and he didn't want to get eggs from me any more. WHAT??!?
Has anyone experienced this before? I was shocked, I didn't know what to say. He followed that up with the fact that his girlfriend really likes them, so he will probably still get some from time to time, but he needs to eat store bought eggs. WTH? Apparently city-boy prefers an almost complete lack of flavor and texture.![]()
I tell ya, it's a good thing that I was too shocked to speak. I likely would've said something along the lines of "I'm sorry if a well fed, happy, healthy bird's egg has too much flavor for your delicate taste buds, I'm sure you'll be much happier with eggs from abused, mistreated, unhappy, unhealthy, poorly fed birds that live their entire lives in a cage and never see the light of day!"You said it...city boy!![]()
