Same as the 3 blacks that are very near POL.How old is your blue pullet?
I am trying to decide if my little chicken is a bantam Ameraucana or a d'Anvers. She is black, and I have looked at a lot of pictures and she could be either one, but I am leaning towards d'Anvers. What are some things I could look for to try to decide?
Thank you. She is 3 1/2 months, and I got her at the Oregon City Coastal, so she probably is a d'Anvers. She does not have a pea comb, she has practically no comb at all, but does have puffy cheek feathers. The biggest difference is the comb. d'Anvers have a rose comb, and Ameraucana have a pea comb. Also, where did you get her? You won't get a true Am from a hatchery, but some of them do have d'Anvers, so if she came from a feed store, she's not an Ameraucana. How old is she?![]()
Quote: Interesting. She could be an bantam EE too...it would be odd for her to be solid black if so, so yeah, she's probably a d'Anvers. Will be interesting to see what color egg she lays.![]()
Such cuteness! What is that? Emu? Osterich? I want one!
Emu. About 4 months old. They need at least 2 acres to be truly happy as a breeding pair. Alone, they require one acre minimum and 4 foot fencing.Such cuteness! What is that? Emu? Osterich? I want one!
