Hi Angela! How are things in the sagebrush patch?

Horribly hot and super smokey!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a smallish fire in West Richland but thankfully that one was put out. The one near Ellensburg is raging. 60 homes have burned and hundreds of people have evacuated. Sooo scary!

*nods* It was a little smoky over here, too, but I'm not totally sure where it was coming from. Sad thing when folks start losing their homes!

I had a similar problem and bought a new incubator

Have the eggs already shipped? Could they be diverted to someone else who could incubate for you?

I think I am going to leave the turner out so I can fit more eggs, and hand turn them until my other incubator is empty. Hopefully this works.

Yesterday was sooo hot but I got the most eggs I've ever gotten in one day! And I am loving my 2 new Delawares! Just sharing. Is anyone on here showing at State Fair?

I was wondering the same thing about the fair? We will be there. My DD will be showing silkies. We have all young birds pullets and cockerals going. I sent in my check and paperwork to the fair but havnt heard anything from so I am wondering is this normal? It will be our first fair so I am lost.... I am going to contact them soon but I expected to receive something from them?

Anyway we have 7 birds going so will be busy.... Lol tis the norm I guess.... Hoping for some nice cool weather for the fair.... and that my birds dont moult any further or we may not be going after all! All of the heat we have had I have birds blowing feathers out all over the place

It's normal not to hear back. As long as you filled them out correctly and paid them the right ammount you can just show up and your birds will be entered.

Anyone want a free blue silkie roo? Hate to send him to freezer camp and probably "can't" as he is too tame, sigh. Also, still have to sterile gray call ducks - very cute, would look great on a pond, hint, hint, lol.

At State Fair you find the Livestock Office and when you check in you will get all your passes, etc.
Things I like (and miss) about the Fair: getting there real early with your coffee in hand, there are no crowds and it is still cool, feeling like an "insider" with your exhibitor parking pass, saying Good Morning to the gate person (who soon recognizes you and doesn't make you show your ID every time) Seeing all the animals in pristine condition and smelling all those fresh shavings. The huge ice-cream cone from the Dairy stand.
