I meant Sulmet....I have Corrid, Sulmet and Wazine in my chicken cabinet. Thanks Jeanine, very informative. I noticed one of my little ones kinda of fluffed up a couple weeks ago. I did Sulmet in the water...and she seems fine now. I've not had any sick chickens yet..I'm a bit paranoid. Can I get the Eprinex at the feed store? Is it liquid? I wormed all the chickens once in the spring..but it was just with the Wazine. I've been meaning to find a good list of medicine cabinet must haves for chickens and then implement it.

Gotcha! Eprinex is a pour-on cattle dewormer. You can get it at Wilco. It's about $50, but it's a 250ml bottle, it will last a very long time. It's 1/4cc per bantam, and a 1/2 cc per large fowl, give or take. On my really big LF, like my big Favs, I use about 3/4cc. It goes on just like Advantage does on a dog, right on the skin behind above the shoulders.

When you use Eprinex, it's easiest to use a dropper, because the rubber stopper in a syringe gets really sticky, and after just a couple of doses, it's nearly impossible to push it down....

Quote: That's awesome that you have such a great store! Our Wilco does a chickens 101 type class too, but after dealing with the employees regularly (they're nice and helpful and everything, but tend toward bad advice / lack of knowledge, not necessarily their fault, they're trying their best) I have avoided the classes, though I've often considered going just out of curiosity.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to drop by to let anyone interested know that I have--for the first time in my life--extra pullets! They're all MF or calico bantam cochins. A couple have neat coloring and one has much better type than the others, but they're mostly pet quality (and very sweet) birds. PM me for details.
