Cloverleaf, those folk on the Washington thread talk NON-STOP. It is impossible to keep up with them. I get on BYC and see 5 new posts in Oregon, 66 in the Washington. And they talk about EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a headache now. I think I am just going to stick to this one. Much more my pace.

I could get a few to come hang out here and help liven up this deadbeat thread !!! I think you guys are just

I ordered 15 jersey giant eggs, one hatched. The others didn't take and went out to check on the lil one and something must of got it it was gone. I thought he would be safe with his momma until he was a little older but something got in and got him. I should of safeguarded him by taking him up but I was hoping he would be ok. I didn't want him to be alone in the house with no other chicks or his surrogate silkie Mom. I know this is no big deal in the scheme of things but makes me sad anyway, it was a blue chick and was just a doll.

Should of gone with my gut.

Do you think the skunk got in? Their so vulnerable when their little. I put mine in a rabbit cage up off the ground with the nest box in it and cover the bottom of the cage with hay. It's alway worked out well. That way the hen can take care of them. I now have ground squirrels getting in my coop and run so another worry.
Maybe they would send you some more eggs since only one hatched?
