Organic feed

Chickens don't have a super strong sense of smell or taste, so if anything I'm guessing that there may be a visual difference with the organic scratch they have. There is a big difference in the organic produce here, especially fruits, but I doubt chickens would care. To me it is more about the sustainability of organics vs. "regular" feed.

Organic feed, and mostly organic table scraps. Organic pellets are twice as much as regular here. Selling my eggs for $2/doz barely pays for feed!
2$ a dozen? Wow, that seems low to me...I'm pretty sure we pay more for pasture-raised eggs here, when we buy them (sometimes if we want to hard-boil a bunch we have to supplement the girls')

To lay claim to being "organic eggs," do they have to be fed organic feed since birth or how long before egg lay can you switch and still be called organic?
