Organic Mealworms?

Does the USDA and other certification organizations not certify mealworms?
I don’t think so unless the facility wants this certification, but otherwise there are not that many rules for what you can feed animals. A lot of times they sell birdseed and meal worms but label them to be used to feed wild birds. I think they get around things that way.

I tried looking everywhere[2]. Can you send link?

I was about to say that some of the sites say they are organic, and fed non GMO, but then add they are NOT for human consumption. If they are as good as the claims, they would be good enough for human consumption.
I just ordered a bag that had made all these claims from Amazon and when I got the bag it didn’t have any of the labeling, I still need to email them about it. I just want to make sure that the meal worms I give to my chickens are not fed diseased dead animals or something since I eat the eggs!

The ones that I have ordered from Amazon are from the company TradeKing. I buy a 5 pound bag every few months and from the company description these are the ones I went with. They are not organic, but they sounded like one of the better ones, at least they said they were for chickens and not just wild birds. You will just have to scroll through the description of their product and decide if it is for you and your chickens.I don’t think they are USDA certified, maybe if they were for human consumption. I know you can buy meal worms and that sort of thing for human consumption

Sometimes I even wonder about the non-GMO organic layer feed i buy. There is corn in it and I thought almost all corn is genetically modified, maybe I’m wrong? I pay $32 for a 50 pound sack, that seems too cheap.
