Split wings are not bad, just the USA judges dont know how to judge them as they are not adopted by APA yet and they are judging them like American fowl. Split wing is a good thing.
Sonotal is a color term that means light red. Like Rampur means black, Ghan means dark red, etc. Now, people here in the states tend to use these terms to describe whole lines or strains, sometimes regardless of color. All the sonotal I've seen have been reza type, small asil, the type as standardized by the APA. They seem to be elegant, athletic birds. I tend to think of the Wahl ones when someone says " sonotal" .
