Orinda chicken mom

I am a new chicken mom in Orinda, California. I got my chicks from concord feed in August. Still figuring everything out but really enjoying it. I have 7 hens and 1 rooster. Not sure that I can keep the rooster or if I want to (he is very loud). They have great personalities!

What a lovely flock you have!

Roosters can be noisy (my first was, in fact, named Sir Henry the Loud) but watching them tidbit and look after their girls is pretty cool. On the other hand, my current roo is an ornery little jerk. IF you have a cockerel, I hope he's one of the good guys.
