Hi! I’ve been a member for 3 years, but never have posted or introduced myself. I’ve been keeping chickens for 3+ years but honestly haven’t paid much attention to what breeds we have, outside of a few silky mixes. My husband started us with chickens by bringing home chicks that the kids watched hatch in an incubator at daycare. Somehow I ended up falling in love with the chicken project!
I’d like to add some new chickens to our flock and think it would be fun add some pizzaz. We live in Houston TX and are looking for good egg layers. The kids enjoy selling fresh eggs to teachers and friends, so maybe a breed that has interesting eggs would be fun too.
I’ve read through the article on picking the best breed for one’s needs but am interested in everyone’s opinions and experience.
