I just wanted to note your signature. I've been an adopted daddy to many retired racers. I have two here on the farm, which are the most impractical animals ever for farm dogs. But I love them. We usually adopt seniors... although our first one was FotT.

#1 Box of chicks

#2 White Crested Black Polish
#3 Blue Cochin
#4 Blackish ones are Barred Rocks, other ones are probably Easter Eggers or Brown Leghorns, one in person's hand is a Buff Cochin
#5 Another box of chicks

#6 Same as #2
#7 Black Langshan or Cochin
#8 Black or Barred...something. Maybe Barred Rock
#9 Blue Cochin
#10 I'm not sure, but I did have a chick with a foot like that before that I splinted the same way and it healed!

Cute chicks

#2 & #6 are white crested black Polish

#3 & #9 are blue Cochins

#4 the two black chicks with white headspots are either Dominiques or Barred Rocks, depends on the comb (guess it is possible they could be cuckoo Marans too?)

#7 is a black Langshan

#8 is an Ancona

#10 is a silver spangled Hamburg?

in #1 I see some Easter Eggers (MM calls them Americanas or Araucanas, but they are EE), and it also looks like there are some either silver Phoenix, silver Leghorns or silver gray Dorkings (the Dorkings will have 5 toes)

in #5 the gold chick with a leopard marked head looks like a gold penciled Hamburg, it also looks like there is a buff Cochin and to the left a little above the buff Cochin it may be a blue laced red Wyandotte

I ordered the same thing but I didn't think that langshans were sexed so I figured they were not able to include those, and I agree the other looks like a silver spangled hamburg but I didn't realize those were included either.

Let me know when you figure out what all you get its along time till June when ours come.

You two are so smart. I am now quite sure that #10 is a Silver Spangled Hamburg. I even raise those, and I didn't recognize it... but I went to look up some old pictures of my birds, and see...:

I figured the same thing, that the ornamental layer collection would only contain ones that they sell by gender, not the straight run only breeds. Oh boy, that means I could get any 8 of 35 different breeds next Monday!

Weather is warm here, 78 degrees, and 46 in Iowa, so I'm hoping for the best.

Sandy
