For the readers on here interested in learning more about keeping happy and healthy wild waterfowl, here's some books you might find helpful if they're not already on your bookshelf:

The New Duck Handbook - Heinz Raethel
A very good basic book on overall waterfowl care with some good information on wild ducks too.

Why Ducks Do That - Chuck Petrie
A good introduction to duck behaviors with lots of photos.

Waterfowl: Ducks, Geese and Swans of the World - Frank Todd
The first of two great books on all waterfowl species with lots of great photos

Natural History of the Waterfowl - Frank Todd
The second of Frank Todd's great books on the waterfowl of the world.

There are more I consult from time to time and I'm happy to this those too if someone asks.

Happy reading!
Danny

You might also want to check out some of the books by Simon Tarsnane. He wrote a few in the 80's and 90's that are still pretty relevant today. The most recent is called Waterfowl: Care, Breeding and Conservation.
