Orphan Silkie hen needs home

Aww, You are sweet to think of Tink s future. I wouldnt say she will be around longer then you or your dear wife though ! Thats in Gods hands. My husband is 80 and still does all he can.
You didnt mention your location ? What city would pick up be in ?
We live just south of Ottumwa, Iowa

I shared this to my thread . I hope we find a good home for her/him ? I kinda think she already has one with you though. As long as predators cant get to her the set up sounds fine.

I must agree with granny hatchet... your little hen has found a home—yours. Sometimes they choose us.
I understand your concerns for her care but there are lots of people here willing to help. As long as she is safe from predators she sure seems happy. Silkies like human company.

Are you sure you don't need a chicken? They really aren't much trouble, and with all the attention your Tink seems to get, I'll bet she'd be fine. She looks a lot like our Herman, who lives in the house at night and follows whoever is home around outside all day. He's a pretty well adjusted fellow for an orphan, so I'll bet Tink would be fine.

I agree with these fine people, Tink sounds like she loves and needs you guys! :love So sweet!

If by chance you do have to find her a home and aren't to far from Kansas City, we'd drive the 4 hours up there to meet you! She'd have a couple other silkie friends to hang with as well as help me care for my veggie garden.

Tink needs other Silkie friends, not two very old people whose life expectancy is much shorter than hers. She needs Silkie friends, not big chicken friends like the ones who nearly killed her. She needs an owner who understands Silkies, who will take the time to trim the feathers around her eyes so she can see well. We do not need a chicken....we already feed birds, raccoons, possums and squirrels. There are many bobcats and coyotes close by so we have to watch Tink constantly to prevent her from being some animal's dinner. Little Tink is not show quality, she is just a little hen who needs a friend who will take care of her. I forgot to mention, in addition to chicken pellets, scratch, oyster shell and grit, she likes homemade cookies, banana and especially watermelon.
