Orphaned chick!!

Hi, my father in law has had 6 chicks hatch just over a week ago, under a broody. Last night a fox got the mum and 5 chicks. They all run free on the farm. The cockerel has been looking after the baby this morning. I'm wondering if he's got the correct instincts to raise it, or am I best to catch it and look after it myself!! I'm currently incubating myself so have got all the equipment. Do I interfere with nature?

Haha, nice cockerel you got there, is he a silkie?
I would leave them and see what he does, if he starts pecking it and stuff than take it away, but if he acts like the mom would and give it food he finds than they should be fine.
