Orphaned eggs?(A PIP!!)10:32 A baby!(pics added)

Now I'm really worried, I think the egg has a crack around the bottom of it where the air cell is. The end is broken off where the pip started and I can see the beak, and a good portion of the baby, but there is blood aound it, not a ton, but it's there and the membrane is kind of stuck to the baby. Instead of zipping it kind of broke? Zapped?

HMMMM not sure what you mean by broke or zapped?? Can you see if the beak is moving at all? They usually open and close their beak almost as if they are eating up the last of the fluid in there or I have often wondered if there was something about their saliva that disintegrated the membrane. Either way you should see movement. And when you look at the chick you should be able to see breathing movement?? Do you have a camera??

Where the air pocket was supposed to be it wasn't, I don't remember seeing it on the side of the egg but that is where it was. The baby's beak got stuck open kind of sideways on the shell so I broke the piece of the shell off so it could close it's mouth. It's breathing, but right now it looks pretty gross and I don't want to post a pic of it in this condition. It's in a little over half of the shell, it's body is exposed but it's breathing and it opens it's eyes. It's just not making an attempt to uncurl or leave the shell it's still in.

My last BLRW was still alive on day 23(almost 24) and I pipped the air cell and it still did nothing for 24 hours so I helped it more and it still did nothing so I hatched it and it was totally fine but it really is a little thing. Probably the "runt" so to speak. But up and very active and healthy now.

Yes, and I was a worried hen the whole time.
I did so much pacing back and forth, I think I need some new carpet.
It seemed like the poor little thing would push and push the shell, but just couldn't get out.

But when he did, he fluffed up and was running around like a week old chick in about 3 hours.

Sadly, the poor little thing died 4 days later........I think the chunky butt BR's suffocated him.

Half the shell is gone, it is laying on it's side with half the shell under it and the other half pretty much gone. It looks like Baby Chick on the Half Shell and if it wasn't breathing nice and evenly and opening it's eyes every now and then I'd be in an undescribable state. I'm so sorry for this, I'm trying to make sure I know I'm doing for our classroom hatches and now this?
Thank all of you so much for your support. Especially those of you PMing me and helping me with Lamaz.

You're doing GREAT!!! And don't forget, if it weren't for you, this chick and the other would have no life at all, so God bless you! Just let the little thing rest for as long as it needs. It will eventually stretch and burst out.
