I lost the second one. It tried to push out of the shell and I think it's abdomen was stuck to it. I couldn't get the humidity up high enough, I don't know if that caused it or not but it looks like it either was formed all the way, or it ripped, I just don't know. It was a pretty little golden color and it tried it's best.

Thank you, I'll learn with experience. If I had noticed it had a small pip on the bottom of the egg I think I could have kept it from drying out like it did.

I've been gone all day, but just caught up. I feel very, very sad that the 2nd little guy didn't make it. I was really pulling for it.

Thank you, I appreciate you guys good thoughts. As you can probably tell I'm a real animal person, and I believe very strongly in the feelings and emotions of animals.
My son finished taking the little one of the shell this morning and the side we could see last night was just perfect but on the other side the abdomen was not closed all the way and it looked like it probably wouldn't have anyway. I took a picture of it looking at me before it died, what a strange feeling.
ON the good side I get to keep the survivor and Juanita will be getting one of the ones that hatch in the classroom. I told her she could have her choice. I'm uploading pics of the survivor, this will be fun trying to pin down what this little is crossed with!

Just read all this post-I am sorry you lost your baby but glad you still have the one! Somethings happen for the best even though we don't always understand. I am looking forward to see your new pics!
