I have 1 Orpington chicken that has a bald but the other eleven are fine. I noticed that this chicken spends a lot of time in nesting box more than other chickens could this be the cause of bald butt? Haven’t seen any of the other chickens pecking at her, check the butt not red, chickens are 9 months old any thoughts.

It’s on her butt and spends a lot of time to lay and egg her first time she layed two eggs at one time with no shell then layed on yesterday with very thin shell.

Yes, giving them layer crumbles plus all kinds of high protein treats cooked eggs pumpkins sunflower seeds scratch etc. plus have 11 other chickens with no problem

New layers can take a while to get the plumbing glitches worked out. Hence the two eggs at a time. 2 with no shell and a thin shell are a concern. You might want to offer oyster shell in a separate container.

Layer crumbles, Rhode Island Red, Wyandotte, Sussex , 3 of each coop size 10x18 run is 10x20
