Orpington Full Range

Those Cuckoos are a beautiful look. I am happy to have just those three cockerels. I am holding back some extra Blues, Blacks and Buffs pullets for them. My boys just became 6 months of age. Their still filling out. And I expect to put them to good use.

if you here you will be spoil of choice , i will get you the best material you only can dream of

minh one thing to remember about us Yanks, we do have the genes from the original line of BLACK Orpingtons. IF we choose to make a UK Black Orp style we can. Something like this girl.
Made in USA. 7 month old who displays Cooks idea of an Orpington. The Orpington of colors had to have another breed introduced to get the color. Then you the breeder become the artist. You rebuild and make pullets that look like this. OR what ever ideal Bob thinks, or David thinks. I had this bird with mixing it up with my cocks from my first generation of owning Black Orpingtons. Except I did this in my yard in Indianapolis. And hopefully she will be Exhibited this year. At the Crossroads Show. I think Blacks are on their way back here in the States. Many have them now and love them.

Minh, could I please ask about the tail feathers on your lovely boy in the pic above? I have 2 young lemon cuckoo boys whos tail feathers are growing in like this and I assumed something was wrong so I have started treating them for mites. Should I not be worried after all? Thanks.

Hello Highlander

Very welcome to the thread

look like they only less than 20 weeks old , these young lads don't care for their appearance just yet
not thing to worry about . Just let the mother of nature take care of them

When the spring come he should be worry if he does not sort it out himself
young ladies won't go near him . Surely he does not like that

Is he lemon cuckoo Orpington or Niederrheiner ? Cheers dear

LC Orps. Thanks for the reply.

I just started raising the blacks. I bought them to add to my lavender orpington project, but I think I'm just going to breed the black. So I hope you're right about them coming back. I really like them.

Julie Bachelor Black Orp pullet just won Champion English in Florida this past weekend. that is good for the breed to give the Best of Breed to a Black. And even a UK style Black that meets APA standards. The mix is healthy. Obviously works well for Julie. And me too I hope. But, I can say for sure the interest is climbing.

Some would say the best French Style restaurants are here in America, in New Orleans. I guess it is a matter of perspective.
