I need help with something. What should a 4 month old Orpington pullet weigh? I know cockerels will weigh a little more than a pullet. I am very curious to see what all of your Orp's weigh. Any help ya'll can give me is very much appreciated. Also, at what age is an Orpington done growing?

I'd be glad to help you, but I don't have a scale that would register something as small as a chicken.

I just weigh myself without the chicken and then get back on holding the chicken. Try it............please! I even did it today holding my 30lb tom turkey. He was not amused one bit!

My black orp. roo I got from PC, was about 10 pounds at 6 months of age, the splash pullet not too far behind.

Here he is at 6 months-

Oh good, I bet he's stunning!

Did you weigh him or is that an estimate on his weight?

Come on peeps! I know there are orp owners all over BYC. This may seem like a silly question but it's one I really need answered. Thanks again for all your help!

I have Orps but I don't weigh mine sorry. Orpingtons or any chicken continue to grow and mature way past a year old.
