Orpington Thread

Great pics Cetawin! I'm so sorry you lost Thor. It's always hard to lose the ones who have left a special mark on our lives. It is neat to hear the names. I have a dog named Bella and a cat named Luna. Bella is short for Honeybelle and Luna is short for Lunatic. lol

Yes, that does look like a buff orp. Does she have a single comb? Looks nice and fluffy.

Updated pic of BUSTOFF. Since he is my project ORP everything bird, whatta great time to see how he is doing.
AS you can see. He has lousy tail, type is ehh. But there is something about him. I know I have alot of fans of the potential colors he can throw. I already have a couple Golden Lace Blue Orpy lookin babies from him. I can't wait to take them back to their daddy and to each other. Leaving no bases unturned. I think I will now have some Chocolate Ice Cream to cool my anticipation.

I recieved a call from our local humane society with the need for a foster home for 17 baby chickens that were found in a cardboard box in the trash. There was 18..but in Maine in gets very cold and one died from exposure. 10 of the little ones I believe are RIR..not sure if roos or pullets..the other 7 are larger..and was told they are pale Buff Orpingtons...most likey all roos...they are approx 5-6 weeks old now...getting feathers and very cute....and VERY rowdy:ya

I'm no soft heart . . . but putting a live animal in the trash is just crazy.

Offer them for free on craigslist . . . or cull them.

But unnecessary suffering is just pointless.

my $0.02

PS:> I'm glad you were there to rescue them.
