I love home grown chicken! The size on these beauties is awesome. Wish my Wyandottes had more size.
I will finish catching up when I get home. Really like the overall shape of the English Orps.

Walt, I'll tell him not to over work himself on those wisps of cotton , and thats exactly what they look like..they dont appear to have any kind of real feather stub to me.. he just adores these birds and has such high hopes for them..I did tell him that he will probably never see them again ..the hens are all clean legged. my lord thats a great looking rooster too..he looks like the picture of brown leghorn perfection to me..cant see scrapping the whole breeding program over something you need a microscope to see. they are above the shank except for one that is just iffy on shank ? or just above? Im no expert on that where the line begins and ends..LOL he thought they were vulture hocks, I said my lord no..showed him a couple pics of what actual vulture hocks look like...and description in standard.had to pick on him a little about that one, asked him at work, how are those old brown turkey vultures doing?hee hee

I was going to take pictures of it to use in here as an example and good discussion on what do you do about this on brown leghorn but camera keeps freezing up..I might try to change up the memory card and see if that makes a difference..the last picture I took was this of the blk orp cockeral I got from Jody..Love this guy and going to show him at bath and coboskill..I kept telling myself for long time they were mostly girls but nope. sat in my lawn chair one morning with the fruit smoothie and it became clear who was who by big muffled but loud crows..I just wanted to beleive this was a huge pullet but gonna be a fine show cockeral..right after I took these pics camra went kaput and its almost braND NEW..hopefully I can get it straightned out befor shows start.this was month and 1/2 ago, lots changed since then. bigger and handsome with a great face. he just has lots of substance and seems balanced at this point.

I can see enough to know that he is a very good boy. From the looks of him he will do even better when he gets a bit older. He looks great right now! Good job!!

Before a show my birds always look great. As I pack them up they start to look less great and when I get to the show Friday night they look horrible to me, but we always do OK. I just start picking them apart.

You folks got a lot of water back there.
