Why is it that European Orpingtons tend to be larger than orpingtons here in the U.S.?

Just a thought, are they really bigger, or just fluffier?

Oh no, They are definitely bigger! I have some buff orpingtons that are grown and laying. They are bigger than my black australorpes. But my imported splash orpingtons are huge! I have some 3mths old as large as my buffs that are grown! The guy I bought them from had a rooster that no lie was nearly turkey size! In fact he is a byc member also. Maybe I can get him to post some pics. I was totally blown away!
