Osteoporosis

.. She doesn't want to hurt herself so she is going to a place that is teaching her how to do these type of exercises without hurting herself. I think I'd rather spend the money on a program like that too.
I agree. I took a weight lifting class at the community college a few years ago - lol, well 15ish, time flies.

It was a little embarrassing to be the only oldish, quite decrepit, and very much a newbie when most people in the class were on athletic scholarships. It was well worth it, though. The professor did an awesome job of teaching us how to not hurt ourselves. I kept it up for a while after the class. I think I remember enough to just start again.

Magnesium helps raise vitamin D levels and many people are low in Magnesium.
Magnesium gives me the runs. I've tried a couple different supplements, and just taking one pill, and it loosens me up. So I've given up on that for now. If anyone has some ideas/insight, I'd love to hear it.

Soaking in water with epsom salt can provide magnesium through the skin. There isn't much info about how much is absorbed under what conditions.

Looking into foods high in magnesium, I found this and another source that had most of the same foods listed. It turns out that I get a lot of magnesium through my food already. Chia seeds, bananas, almonds, peanut butter, spinach, brown rice, black beans, yogurt; these are in my daily/weekly fare.

Great if you get enough in your diet! Muscle craps, eye twitches and migraine headaches can be a sign of low magnesium.

Thank you for drawing attention to magnesium. That wasn't even on my radar.

I saw this on the save the bones website this morning.
".. excessive sugar consumption increases urinary calcium excretion. It spurs the loss of bone-building minerals. The same is true of Foundation Supplements copper and magnesium. All three minerals are essential for strong bones, and each is impeded by sugar..."

I know I've eaten too much sugar, I think it will be easier to stop now with more specific info on why and how it is bad for bones.

I had to take my dress for my oldest son's wedding in to be shortened. It fit well at my daughter's wedding several years ago. 😟😔

I liked the people at the alteration shop and decided to have them shorten my other dress (for my youngest son's wedding) even though they are here near where my son lives, many hours away from where I live. I think I better cancel that because it occurred to me that I don't know how much shorter I will be by his wedding next fall. 🙁😔

Even going full out with addressing the osteoporosis - it might takes some time for the effects.
