Ostrich chick with hurt leg

I have a 2 week old ostrich chick that has hurt his right knee some how. It is swollen and he has a hard time putting weight on it. He can still bend his knee but can't walk well on it and starts to panic and try to run and topples over. My question is should I rap him and the leg up to prevent him from trying to move for a couple days? I have him in a small dark box for right now to keep him calm.

Could it be a tendon issue? If the tendon is out of place you will have to get it back in place before trying to splint the leg at all. Keep him calm and warm, as well as hydrated. Offer vitamins to help him heal. I don't keep ostriches, I'm basing these theories off other poultry.

The tendon is out of place, I put it back in rapped it and now have him suspended from my staircase making a big mess he tries to eat, drink and break free.
