Ostrich egg late, not hatching

Could hear heavy breathing coming from the egg and ended up, making a hole in the egg and could see that the birds neck was twisted and the bird was in the wrong position head facing down so i helped it get its head out then it hatched out the rest of the way on its own and although it seems to have less balance then the other one did when it hatched, it is quickly getting better

Congrats on the new little one!

Don't forget to post a picture when you have time.
First photo is the first egg that hatched no problems and second photo is the one we helped along

Tried to post a video but it didn't work

Congratulations on your assisted hatch!

Oh my goodness, so cute!! :love

To post a video, one way is to post it on YouTube, then make it shareable and copy the link to here.

Welcome to BYC.
I would give it another day or two before touching it. Sometimes cool spots in the incubator can cause them to develop slower.
I'm basing this on knowledge of chicken hatching, I have no knowledge of ostriches at all.
Good luck!
Welcome. Anything changed today?
