OT...What should I do with a bunch of cream cheese?

You can add a can of salmon to that cheeseball recipe and it goes great on crackers...

I also , make a shrimp and crab dip using that same recipe but cut it in half and don't use the walnuts...instead put in a drained can of crab and a strained can of salad shrimp...mmmm everyone here loves it

The shortbread pie crust is like the graham cracker crust - a no bake - type of thing. You can find it in the baking aisle of most grocery stores (I know IGA has it).

I love peanut butter pie <g>. It is easy and fast to make, too. No cooking, so it doesn't heat up your house in summer.

As for hot foods, I make my own "hamburger helper" stuff with hamburger, noodles of some shape, and a sauce made from gravy with cream cheese melted into it - it rocks.

the simple life- That is one of my favorite dippy foods EVER. I can eat the whole pan my own greedy self!

here's the other one we make for girl nights-

2 boxes of cream cheese
1 cup of dark brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 bag of toffee brickle

Mush all that together in a bowl. It's better if you let it sit in the fridge overnight and then restir. There are times though when we haven't made it that long.

Eat it with apple slices. I'm lazy so I buy the presliced stuff in both red and green. But you can slice up the real deal if you like.

I will warn you that this is not an attractive dip. People will look at it suspiciously. That is okay because it they don't eat any you get it all. This is one of the few foods that I absolutely cannot resist. I will eat it until I am ill. Once your friends find out how good it is you will all huddle around the bowl and not share with anyone else at the party.

You can also make this with the lowfat stuff, but that's kind of futile. While the apples give the illusion of it being healthy, it will put the pounds right on you.

Taco Dip

2 eight oz. packages cream cheese
2 sixteen oz. tubs sour cream
2 packages of taco seasoning

Soften the cream cheese to room temperature, mix with sour cream and taco seasoning in a large bowl with a hand mixer until smooth.
Spread in 13x9x2 pan.

Top with:
Lettuce
Diced Tomatoes (Romas, if you can get them, they're less juicy and hold up better on the dip)
Shredded Cheese
Black Olives
Green Chilis, drained
Taco Meat, if desired

I usually put these on the side:
Minced Onions
Jalepenos
Refried Beans

Serve with tortilla chips.

This is such an easy thing to make for a football game or potluck, and it is a favorite of my family.

You should feel lucky, my family thinks it's terribly difficult to make, and I refuse to give out the recipe and change their minds, LOL.

Not cream-cheesey at all, it's very smooth, and SOOO yummy.

Don't double it, this recipe makes a HUGE amount, for like, 12-18 people. You can halve it if you don't need that much.

All KINDS of pasta dishes. A pound of cream cheese and a cup of sour cream or two, along with a packet of Italian seasoning or a can of cream soup makes an AWESOME sauce for chicken & pasta!

Also, one of my daughter's favorite sandwich/wraps is what we call a "Nutty Bird." Spread cream cheese on bread or tortilla, then sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and add shaved turkey and spinach. Roll up if on tortillas. YUM.

Wish I lived near you, your making me hungry! I love cream cheese frosting. If you have any birthdays coming up or wanted to put it on cupcakes for kids.

Maybe some dips if you add some spinach to the cream cheese. You could pour a jar of chutney over the cream cheese and put it on crackers. I just had some spicy jalapeno chutney and the two together were delicious.

As far as the cabbage, my grandmother always made cabbage soup and it was delicious! It was a secret recipe (which I think I have somewhere). Basically she would saute onions, cabbage, celery and then add salt/pepper and broth and let simmer. I will try to find the recipe for you.
