I got bowled over during my basketball game tonight and hurt my ankle really badly. I have it iced and elevated right now and my mother is bringing an ankle brace home from her work for tommorow. I was fine, then I was on my back on the ground, then when I got up, I was limping uncontrollably and I couldn't stop myself from crying. My coach who is also my homeroom teacher told me to walk to his room and back a couple time every couple minutes, but every time I felt worse. It was awful. I hope I didn't sprain it. We only lost by four points, though! NObody shot for the two minutes I was on the court.

I don't know why in the world someone would tell you to basically 'walk it off.' If you are limping & in pain to the point of tears, a sprain NEEDS to be elevated & you need to STAY OFF IT!
I'm not a doctor, but I am a klutz & have had MANY a sprained ankle in my day. Also, just because you can walk, somewhat, DOESN'T necessarily mean you didn't break or chip something, either. I would suggest a trip to the doctor's office, just to be sure.

A trip to the doctor's office X 3. Untreated ankle problems can result in chronic difficulties. Get your ankle checked out. PLEASE!
