Our babies made it

3 weeks old, moved to their outdoor bigger playpen.. no longer putting food in the feeder as they just lay there and stuff their heads in it... they are super active little babies, i open their house door each morning and they all pile into the laundry basket (no longer really fitting in it and the basket is getting heavier lol) i will likely weigh a few today for fun. Only their heads are still covered in baby feathers.

50# bag of feed $22.50 (is also fed to our laying babies)

previous total
--------------------
146.50

6.50 shavings
22.50 feed
_______________
$175.50 current total / 25 birds

$7.02 each so far....

Great pictures. Mine are at the same stage as yours and about to go outside. I found that they were getting too crowded at the chick feeder. Read somewhere that they need 3" of feeder space each, so I got a 3" wide piece of PVC 5' long and cut a long cap off the top to make a long trough that they could all access. Lowes has "test caps" that fit in each end so the grain doesn't spill out. I set the trough up on bricks so they wouldn't scratch it all out. Works great.

Most of the time I scatter their grain in their outdoor run, I only put a little extra in the tray as I chucked them back in their house ;) I normally don't feed them in their house at all anymore ;)

dirty birds, they are loving being in their play yard and dusting themselves... im wondering if im not feeding them enough, they are still ravenous for food anytime i come close... they arent fat like ive seen some other babies around the same age. they remain very active. a month old!!
