Our Banty might be a rooster???

Ok, we have one Bantam chick that is now acting very rooster-like! We are so new to this though that we have no idea if she is just more aggressive than the others, or if SHE truly is a HE. We had two bantams but unfortunately one did not make it so we have nothing to compare "her" to. She is now about 10 weeks but has not really made any attempt at crowing that we know of. They are pretty much free-range in our yard (with a lovely coop to sleep in at night) so we have spent a lot of time with them all. In the last week though, she has become very aggressive. She puffs up her feathers and scratches at the ground as if she's going to charge you! And she DOES charge! Pecking at my feet while I was opening up their little door to the coop this morning.

So, for all you chicken people that know much more about these lovely little girls than I, is my sweet little banty a rooster or a hen?

I'd love any input!

looks very similar to mine, <<<small one in the avatar... it was identified as a Old English Game Bird, Silver duckwing variety. Yours has a lot more saddle feathers than mine. Mine was 11 weeks yesterday. No aggression at all so far here. The other birds are twice and four times his size by now.

Twice I've heard a odd China Pheasant noise, and am wondering if that is what their crows sound like. Or if we have the real thing in the field next door.

Ours has always been much smaller than the other birds we have as well. She has always been so very sweet too and a little timid even but lately, not so much. Not sure what is going on with her if she's actually a she. I wonder what would cause her to become so aggressive all of a sudden? Like I said, we've spent ample time with them all and have no problems whatsoever. Weird, isn't it?

Those saddle feathers are a dead give away: cockerel!

Ohhhh no! We're not very prepared to have a cockerel...
I really love these little birdies. I'm going to have to do some studying now...

its an old english game bantam cockerel looks like its a silver duckwing in color

Roosters are awesome to have! I love all mine!

Sorry, no "might be" about it, that's all boy. Any bird that age with that much comb is a boy. The saddle and hackle feathers just settle the deal.
