Well, I'll definately keep the BYC communtity posted. There are a few eggs that have not hatched due to whatever reasons, still under Dolly. I will give her a week more and then if there are any unhatched I will gently break it open and see if what I have in the house matches with what's in the eggs. That is the true test.
Thanks for all who responded and I'll think about the ag extension thing. They sure don't seem to resemble any turkey I've ever seen...

So here's another query,
I intended to 'open' an unhatched egg for confirmation, but upon further reading realize that turkey eggs take about 28 days to hatch. How can I tell if there is life in the egg? They seem heavy and dense, indicating life, but the shell seems too thick to candle. I'll just treat them all as if there is life and see what happens? Can y'all tell I'm new to this... I don't want to make a mistake though, so at the risk of sounding stupid, I will ask questions and keep asking. Thank you all again, and thanks for the feathersite recommend, but there are no turkeyXchickens listed...

It said, basically, that the only way it can happen is if it's a female turkey with a male chicken (usually a RIR)-- that the mortality rate is high, esp. with males....

But it is possible... just very VERY unlikely

So did you take half her eggs and incubate them yourself, or did you take half her poults/chicks that hatched?

And generally a turkey hen will lay an egg a day until she is ready to set. This way the clutch will all develop and hatch around the same time (within hours). So if she set on the eggs they should all be hatching around the same time. Unless another wild hen layed in her nest. Which is also unlikely but possible.

How long did it take these babies to hatch?
