Wow, Lafevre looks good. I hope that doesn't mean another QB controversy year though.
Bears management love to play with their new toys regardless of what that means for the cohesiveness of the team. We just had our gelling year with Cutler last year, I don't want to do that again unless he gets hurt.
Back to the coop......
I had an idea in mind and a size requirement, and built the frame. Since I have a large pile of scrap wood I just tried a few different things until I was fairly happy with it.
If I had some things to do over again I would have made these changes...
1. I would have moved the opening in the floor all the way over to one side. (The right side in the picture, away from the roost) It takes up more floor space and bottlenecks them when the want to run to the door when you open it up. That move would put the ramp right into the door for the run but I could easily have moved that to the other end.
2. I would have built a covering for the food and water spot. I had to scrounge up an old cabinet door to mount over the buffet area. I don't know why this didn't dawn on me that they would be roosting up there and "doing their thing" all over their food and water, but apparently it didn't. I noticed it right away when I went to put the waterer in there and went and mounted the door up there.
3. I wish I would have picked up something more substantial for the roofing material. 1/4" plywood is really sad looking up there. 3/4" would have been much better. I can't wait to get the corrugated roof panel.
