She sounds like such a wonderful young lady. I hope and pray that with some time, my daughter will start to chip in more with the chicken & duck chores. My daughter (she suffers from "only child syndrome" ~ to be honest I am working very hard to right my wrongs as an older parent to an only child) was excited to see yours surrounded by her chickens. I think your daughter was inspiring. I know you are very proud. She seems like such a blessing

Thank you! Yes, she is most definitely a blessing in many ways.
Jordan and I share the farming passion, while my husband and son like the animals, but don't really like the work associated with them. To be fair, both kids help with chores in the evening (we also have horses), but Jordan loves the work, and Drew is less enthusiastic. My husband works long hours at his job, so he gets a pass on the critter care.
He is very helpful when we have to haul hay or equipment, so in some way, the whole family helps out.
