The humidity got really high (85) so I figured it'd be safe to candle some of the inactive eggs. There were 7 quitters that we opened up and the looked like day 16-18ish one had even pipped the aircell and died.
There are 6 eggs left in there and 9 have hatched so I'm not complaining. Really it's the most chicks I've ever hatched my highest number is 8, tied twice. I've noticed with my white leghorn eggs that they have low hatch rate. I'm begining to think it may be genetic. Guess I need more hens and roo's to mix up the lines.
Regardless of my losses, I consider it a succesful hatch-- and it's not over yet!
