Our Egg VS. Store-bought!

It never occurred to me to sell the eggs because they are just Murray McMurray hatchery stock.

I guess I could though.

I wish I had an incubator to hatch some out. I've never sold hatching eggs so don't know how to package them for shipping. So far every egg has been fertilized. They would be pure production reds or pure leghorns or a mix of leghorn x production red. My two roos, one RIR and one leghorn, are in with the hens.
its easy to package them. u get a box. fill it with newspaper. wrap each egg in bubble wrap. place the eggs in an egg carton. wrap the carton in bubble wrap and place them in the box and cover it with the paper. u go to the post office and ask how much for shipping to the buyers address. charge the buyer for the shipping and however much u wanna sell the eggs for. ive sold eggs before and thats how i did it.

I'll try and save some and see if I can save enough. At the moment, I think only two hens are laying. The other red is molting. How much do poor quality production bird eggs go for? I would say shipping will cost more than what they are worth, LOL.

id wait till spring when they are all laying so u can collect all fresh eggs and get them shipped. i actully shipped eggs to tennessee and shipping was $18. i didnt charge for the eggs but u could sell like say 6 eggs plus 3 extra incase of mail accidents for like 10 bucks. add the 18 bucks and make 28 bucks off 9 eggs

Lord willing I will have all of my hens and roos separated into groups by then. Dominques, white rocks, production reds, and leghorns in separate areas so they breed true. :)
