Hi y'all... I need some help please
Our favortite, and most friendly chicken, got suddenly sick overnight, she is just 3 months old and was doing fantastic until this past Saturday into Sunday. She is really lathargic and wont hardly move on her own. Wont eat or drink. So I went to the medicine route and got the water changed out and mixed up a batch of amrpolium per the instructions, 1 tsp per gallon. She wont drink so I gently put her beek in the water a few dozen time to make sure she got some in her system. We have 6 chickens total so I was told I had to make sure the rest drink this solution as well.
So being this is our first time having a sick, or what seems to be a sick youngster, am I doing the right thing and how long does it usually take to see signs of improvement.
Mom is really worried and I am as well. Our little girl is being kept out of the loop thus far but I hope she gets better really soon.
Thank you for all your help.

I think you are doing the right thing! I would be treating for coccidiosis as well. Another thing I would do is make a wet mash using the treated water. I dip their beaks just like that too. And sometimes I hold them and get a tsp and just dribble drops on the side of their beak, and usually they start smacking their lips.

Unfortunately she died Monday morning. I guess this can happen, and it was sad. however we plan on replacing her this next weekend.
