My spouse put out a bird feeder one day about a week and a half ago and our flock got under it and ate all the (many) dropped seeds. One of them (our 3 year old ISS brown) developed white liquify poops a few days later. She is now not as energetic, not eating as readily and refuses worms (though eats grain treats vigorously), has a slight blue tinge to her comb tips that comes and goes. She is also losing feathers (her last molt was only 2 months ago so it’s not an annual molt.
I am worried that she may have caught PD and will never recover, but I guess I’m just looking for some reassurance here. Has anyone dealt with something similar, did your hen recover, and how did you treat it/help her?
On day 2 of the pooping I gave her probiotics in her water, and wetted food pellets to encourage her to hydrate and eat. I also put some yeast cream in her vent to help clear up the gleet she now has.
Is there anything else I can do for her? I can’t help but think she is on her way out
.
Thanks all. Poop photo attached in case it helps…
