Our first coop. Newbie here. We have 6 chicks. The floor space measures 6 feet x 3 feet, including 3 nesting boxes on the floor. I know too tight for continuous confinement, but our hens free range on two acres. Built the coop in the garage in the winter, moved it outside in April. Plant to move it back in sometime in November, and position the coop next to a 16 x 6 run, then move it back outside the following spring.
Two vents on each side, up high. Vents along the the front and back of roof created by the roof joists. Covered these vents with 1/4 inch screen. Chicken door on left, access to nesting boxes on right. Front is four sliding doors, allowing good access to coop. Water and food hang from hooks inside coop. Water and food come out in the day and hang under the coop to protect from getting wet. Roost runs from left to right along the whole length of the inside, about 10 inches off the ground. I should take more pics, but this is what I have.
All of this was made from recycled materials except the roof... one piece of plywood.
