Dakota kept me company last night, and this morning, she was grunting her usual “daddy, do you have any treats for me this morning?” Sound.
I gave her some of my leftover burrito I had last night. She wasn’t too impressed by that. :idunno
Ungrateful!

I am sure she still loves you though 😊

Me toooooo! I was feeling extremely guilty about him being a boy! But he sure does adore Rebecca 😊
Don't you ever feel guilty over George being a boy. I was destined to have him. He was there for me when I needed him after loosing Branch. It has been a absolute pleasure to watch him grow up and blossom. He has taken on the role of flock rooster flawlessly and with that he has became less of a momma's boy. I still can get my snuggles in when I need them, but, he is a very busy little man these days. He is very smart and learns quickly. I can now say he is also great with the chicks. It just took a thumping from Gryffyn when he got too close for her comfort to Georgina that first day. He did not retaliate, but backed off and found a corn kernel and called them over to feed them. He hovers at a respectable distance around Goose and her baby watching over them then dashes to the coop entrance to peek in on Gryffyn and her two. All the while trying to keep tabs on the rest of the girls, attend to escort duties and toe the line Mrs. E demands and stay at her personal beck and call. The poor boy has a lot on his plate and deserves the nightly snuggles now that he is once again bug free. I've spoiled him and like Drumstick before him he now waits for me to pack him to bed. Even when I am dead tired and get home after dark from work first thing I have to do is put George up at night. He could go into the coop and hop up beside Mrs. E himself but no he waits for me. He sits on the dog crate beside the silkie coop even when it is pouring the rain.

Pony Sunday stuff!

Trapped a little mouse and released it just down the road. It was SOOO CUTE! 😆

After releasing the mouse dad and I ran a couple errands, and spotted this Blanding's turtle on the side of the road. He pulled over on the way back home because it was still there trying to cross, so I carried it over to the other side. Never seen a Blanding's before today!

Then I went to check on the phoebes. Still there!

"Sigh.... Let's get this over with"

Then I saw Magrat strutting around with something hanging from her beak. Had no idea what it was, a leaf? She set it down and it hopped a little. Oh, a frog? I went down to check...

Baby chipping sparrow! The parents were going crazy flying arund, chasing squirrels, keeping a close eye on the chooks, making their chipping sounds non stop... The poor thing was dazed but not injured as far as I can tell. It was alert and spicy 😆

Took a while to find the nest but dad finally spotted it in a bush about 4ft off the ground. No other babies but there was an acorn and half a hickory nut shell in there. I think the baby is still a little young to fledge (cant fly yet) so I'm wondering what happened. Squirrel? Crow? I didn't see any other babies on the ground while I was looking for the nest but they're tiny and easy to miss when they flatten themselves.

I wonder what other amazing things I'll see today!
