They will fly out! I had read so much about how heavy the meaties are, that they can barely walk, much less fly. Wrong! Those big wings do a fine job of flying. I had to put chicken wire over their second brooder box to keep them in and still they would be ready to "fly the coop" as soon as I pulled the wire back to feed and water. I had the two brooders side by side and the meaties missed being with the dual purpose birds. They would fly out and go straight to the other brooder and try to get in.
