I appreciate all the input possible. I do worry that maybe Scarlett will get weird with them to be honest. Maybe Nugget too. They can be surprisingly vicious. Even sweet Pepper. They've shocked me in the past so I'm thankful that so far things are going smoothly. I've read the stories too. And those about the broodies eating their chicks...it's a risk to be sure. I'm going out every 2 hours to check on everyone and a little more frequently near dusk when everyone is going to roost.
there's litter everywhere! , @nicollee stopped by and picked up 3 of those tan eggs due to hatch on Tuesday. Now we will have to talk her into joining us in the August hatch-a-long.
You could put the waterer up on something big enough for them to stand on it too.....might help keep the bedding out.I opened the coop door for better air flow this evening. Ruby is already trying to convince the littles it's time to get ready for bed. Cleaned out the waterer for the hundredth time today.
Any news on the other eggs?

She must be using up that extra energy she stored while sitting...I tried that first. Ruby is quite zealous about showing them how to forage. She even managed to get bedding into the hanging waterer in there
I moved a brick and put the baby waterer behind that near the nest. It's working out ok.
