We went and bought our first three chickens today! They are Easter Eggers or Amerucanas or Araucanas because they were labeled as all three (though I'm pretty sure just standard Easter Eggers). We call them Ori, Spicy, and Que which is short for Original Recipe, Extra Spicy, and Barbeque. Yes we have a twisted sense of humor. Here are the gals snoozing away.

Spicy is a little firecracker. She complain VERY loudly when you hold her or anything, but she sure loves to be pet. I'm sure I will post more pictures in the future! They were just so exhausted after getting them from the feed store I decided to let them sleep undisturbed for awhile.

Congratulations! I have a similiar circumstance, we brought home 5, 4 week old chicks yesterday and they are our first too. We have two cuckoo marans, one production red and two gold laced wyandottes. Still looking for Easter Eggers myself. Kids are just loving these gals1

Wow you have quite the first group! Our city only lets us have 6 total, so we decided to start off with three. We really wanted colorful eggs and a super docile bird, so we went with these gals. When we add in the future we might get other breeds. I am loving them right now! They are trying super hard to stay awake and explore, but are so tired they keep randomly falling asleep. It is too cute!

Aren't they so cute!!! I love chicks! When you firt get them, it is so hard not to hold them every second of every day! Mine are 4 1/2 weeks. I do have chicks in the incubator right now that are supposed to hatch tomorrow, but I'll see. Right now I'm really exited for them to grow up and start laying eggs.

Adorable and I love their names.
