Our first dozen eggs!

Today we got our first dozen eggs! We had ten last night and then I checked this afternoon and had two more eggs in the nesting boxes. So now we have a full dozen! Pretty cool!

We just picked up our chickens last Sunday, and the first couple of days they didn't lay much, likely from being stressed with the move. But they seem to be doing well now. Probably not a big deal to most people, but to me and my family it's pretty cool as we're new to the whole thing.

congrats, how many hens do you have? I'm trying to convince the spouse to get a few more, right now we have 6 at 5-8 months olds and only average 4 eggs a day. I'd like to be closer to 6. Enough for one egg a person per day.

We have six hens and one rooster. We've only had them since Sunday, but so far averaging about 3 eggs per day. I'm unsure on their ages as we just got them from a friend of ours who has about 25 chickens.

We're just going to use whatever eggs we can here and give the rest to family/friends.
