Our first egg!

Hip, hip, hooray!! I went out tonight to let the chickens out to free range and found our first little brown egg. I can't believe how excited I was (and still am) over an egg!

I left it there and called for my two daughters who are going to be my egg collectors and told them we could have eggs anytime now so they need to start checking the nests every day. They looked in and were so amazed to see that egg, they ran it up to show Daddy. Who, of course, took their picture with the egg.

Just had to share with others who understand.

Southern28chick: I'd love to post the picture but we've decided to never put most of our children's pictures on the web for various reasons. The biggest being we are a foster family and have taken in some children who had to be kept 'hidden' from birth family for safety reasons.

You'll just have to imagine that medium sized, almost rusty brown colored egg! with some really, really cute little girls holding it.
