Our first egg!!!

After a long and stressful week thinking 1 of our girls wouldn't make it (she's beating the odds!!) And another girl getting sick, our girl Hazel decided she'd bring us a little extra joy today and lay the first egg of our 6 girls!!! When I heard her singing the egg laying song I almost couldn't believe my ears and then not much later we got the most beautiful little egg!

Even with the stress these chickies bring me so much joy

It is always exciting to get that first new egg and especially when it is green! How exciting it will be when a double yolker surprises you!
