Welcome and thanks for visiting. We are just getting into the hatching game and have been raising chickens for a couple years now.

We placed 14 of our own flocks eggs and 13 from another farm nearby. We have 6 young roosters that free range with 35+ hens. Not sure what our fertility rate is but the last several we have opened up were all fertile.

Using a new incuview incubator. Calibrated over the previous week. Keeping it in a closet in the basement.

Our flock is made up of 4 Black Amaraucana and 1 wellsummer roo, hens are same two breeds plus EE, blue andaulasian, 1 barred rock, 1 bcm, and a few black australorp.

So its been a week since the eggs were placed. On day 8 now. We candeled them yesterday and found 4 that looked unfertile or just not growing. Leaving them in with the rest untill day 10 though to be sure. All the others look great!

We have a FB page with more pics and info if interested.
