Our FIRST Hatch Day!!!

My son decided to build a homemade incubator for his science fair project...so for 21 days we have been candeling periodically and here we are on day 21 with 8 eggs!

What should we expect? I am SUPER nervous!

If everything went well they should start hatching soon

It can take quit long though, so don't worry if it looks like the chicks are battling. They can take up 36 hours to hatch! I've seen a really good piece here somewhere on what happens when a chick hatch. I think your son will find it interesting. I'll see if I can find it...

PLUS we have a few youngers on the thread so it would be great to keep it allive with hatching and info!! plus is so nice that everyone checks in and is there to help when you need them!! As a matter of fact we have another with peeps pipping right now too!! A youngster!
