We still had four days left and they were smelling the whole house up, it smelled like a minnow bucket withdead minnows in it for days, so we don't have anywhere else to put them where we can't smell them so we just put the whole thing outside.

I hate to tell you this, but if they are stinking up the house you have some rotten eggs in the batch, and if they burst you'll think it wasn't so bad before; ever smelt a rotten egg that has blown up. Try to check your eggs by candle or light and very carefully shake and listen to the egg if it sloshes alot or is discolored(black) you have found your odor problem.

Sorry to hear that your hatch didn't work out.

Don't let that discourage you!

Make sure to clean the bator thoroughly before the next time you try so that there isn't any bacteria in there lingering.

If it stinks like a minnow bucket you have 1 or more rotten eggs that are probably sweating. Handle them extra carefully! An exploding eggs is the worst! Get the bad egg(s) out of there now and bring the bator back in and finish your hatch.

You will want to disinfect and sanitize your bator well after this clutch is over.
