Farmer's Wife, my black australorps are laying like crazy now - and they are huge, beautiful, SOLID birds too. The Brown Leghorns and Blue Andalusians aren't laying just yet [they are younger], but they should start soon.

Your site is extremely well done. And you live near my sister in law, so when we go down to visit, would it be acceptable to order the eggs and arrange for pick up?

I am finding chicks and eggs close to me, so that I can avoid the shipping process. Not the expense, but the horror stories.

I had never even thought to look right around me. Cackle hatchery and Estes hatchery are within 5 and 30 minutes from where I work.
