Our introduction to keeping chickens, the high's, the lows and pics of our journey.

Ben, sorry to say but there's no hope for you. You will never be less than a chicken person. Lol egg art.
Oh my goodness and those coronations are AMAZING!
Nova, never heard of a mottled orpington. I'll have to look them up. Then again, I don't have my SS roo anymore so that would need to go on my "someday maybe" list. Jubilees are so pretty, very interesting.

The first step to dealing with 'Bator Brain is admitting you have a case of it.

Speaking of steps Pam, I have my second half marathon race in a month tomorrow. Hoping to crush my solo PB time. I added up my run stats last night (yes, I am home alone and up to no good)

In 4 months 4 days, I have covered 697km (433 miles)and burnt over 45,790 calories (more as I had a run today I did not add in.) Staggering hahahaha, Equal calories to 38 medium Big Mac meals. No wonder I eat so much!

I am crazy on many fronts!

Hi Ben, enjoyed going through your thread, what a lovely family you have. Good luck on your run today!

Hahaha, no, only thing more dangerous than me unattended are my two kids together..when it goes quiet go looking for them!

Thanks Lisa, looking forward to the time when some of your feathered family can come join us.

Run went pretty well. I was a pacer today, so I run at a speed to help push a friend to his personal best, or as Nova says 'peanut butter' We did well, shaved 7 minutes off his time. Mine was a best recorded time, but I have gone faster in training. Placed pretty well, 365 out of 1104, 1:50:26 for the 21.1k's.

Then come home, collect eggs, pick up poo and turn the 'bator eggs, have a shower and cooked dinner for the family due home later this afternoon.

Oh Ben , your worth your weight in gold, and a cook. My daughter finished up last night, with the formal presentation about to start. She can't wait to get to the beach, their flight is not until tomorrow night. Hubby has spent the day catching up with some old regiment mates. Just gave the chooks a treat. Cooked pasta ,sardines in oil, bread and steamed vegetables with some raw eggs stirred through. Yum.

Good old Gratto time. I was on the phone just today with a mate from there. Someone posted a pic from 2005 on FB, got a few of us all sentimental hahahaha Must be going around.

Congrat's to your daughter for her win, and Sophie did drop me a line about that Barnie, I think she was going to call direct about making arrangements.

Oh good, her and her hubby have been very gracious hosts. Their horse was a bit of a handful, but he soon came round once the girl from tassie showed him that she had no fear. All in all a good trip and fond memories of her new sandgroper friends.
