Our introduction to keeping chickens, the high's, the lows and pics of our journey.

Hi Deb!

If we are going for the fancy cue's we use the fork, but normally just slice them thin. Strips if we are having home made sushi (a fave of mine!)

13 eegs yesterday, and one broken on on the floor under the roost.

I am confident the night layer is one of the pullet rocks, she had always laid a slightly odd shape egg, and the shells are always slightly thinner than everyone elses.

In other rare news, while cleaning to night fall this morning I had Amy Wyandotte walk up to me and let me pat her...just standing there. No squat or running away. She has never squat for me, and is normally so hard to catch I give up before I waste half a day chasing her. Was nice to just say "Hi, thanks for the pat and the recent eggs"

Alicia makes it in a 'californian' style. Crab meat in one sort and plain tuna in the other. Sliced cucumber, sushi rice and a smear of wasabi rolled in seaweed paper. Dipped in soy......oh man I am getting hungry just listing it hahaha

The family all stand around and as fast as they are made they are devoured. The kids love them.

Oohh If you like Avocados try doing a strip of avocado in the roll along with the Crab Meat....

My sushi guy does his California Rolls with real crab too... Oh yumm. NOW I AM getting hungry.

Steamed asparagus it good in a roll too. It loves Soy sauce.

I mix the wasabi in the soy rather than having it on the sushi.... but thats me.

I've been down and out with the flu for 4 days , haven't eaten a thing. You guys are making me hungry. Sitting by the fire today, after all the fantastic weather we've been having this morning there was snow on the mountain. Crazy !

Is this the weird game that is also for some reason called football, and played with your hands?

Oz, any option to watch a streamed version? Maybe through a ozzy proxy?

Ben, you've been awfully quiet lately again, what's up in your coop? Have you managed to identify all the chick genders already?

Well Fremantle went down so Ben's state will officially be in mourning.

Aussie football is a special breed all on its own and played on full size cricket ovals. Its a rough tough exciting came.

I enjoy the programming of The Australia Channel when I am in Asia. I can stream anything but in a world of low quality internet, its gerat to veg out on front of the footy

We just got our national broadcasting company's and the largest commercial company's channels streamed over the internet, comes in pretty handy sometimes.

I haven't actually ever watched Aussie football, but I'd imagine it's a pretty fun game to play, and pretty entertaining to watch too. I just don't understand the name of either the US or Ozzy sports. Looks more like handball to me. But hockey is the big thing here, that we're actually good at.

I'm sure you'll get 3G networks eventually too. The networks need to be maintained, and at some point it becomes easier to update the equipment instead of just maintaining the old stuff.

*Edit* It's actually interesting how one views different networks. I get frustrated if I don't get HSPA or LTE, 3G feels really slow.
